SUTTON-POINTZ, a tything in the parish of PRESTON, liberty of SUTTON-POINTZ, Dorchester division of the county of DORSET, 4 miles (N.N.E.) from Melcombe-Regis, containing 337 inhabitants. It is within the peculiar jurisdiction of the Prebendary of Preston in the Cathedral Church of Salisbury. Here was formerly a chapel, dedicated to St. Giles, some remains of which are still visible.
