PIDDLETRENTHIDE, a parish in the liberty of PIDDLETRENTHIDE, Cerne subdivision of the county of DORSET, 7½ miles (N. by E.) from Dorchester, containing 590 inhabitants.

The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at £19. 10. 5., and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Winchester. The church is dedicated to All Saints. John Harding, in 1750, left the sum of £431. 13., the interest to be applied for teaching poor children.
