CORTON, a hamlet in the parish of PORTISHAM, hundred of UGGSCOMBE, Dorchester division of the county of DORSET, 6 miles (S.W.) from Dorchester. The population is returned with the parish. Here was formerly a chapel, which has long been desecrated, and converted into a barn.
