of WHITCHURCH-CANONICORUM, Bridport division of the county of DORSET,
2¾ miles (W.) from Bridport, containing 715
inhabitants.
The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, and in the patronage of the Bishop of Bath and Wells. The church is dedicated to St. Giles. This parish is bounded on the south by the English channel. Volume 1, page 411 |
