STOCKWOOD, a parish in the liberty of SUTTON-POINTZ, Dorchester division, though locally in the Sherborne division, of the county of DORSET, 8 miles (S.S.W.) from Sherborne, containing 33 inhabitants.

The living is a discharged rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £5. 13. 4., and in the patronage of Thomas Bellamy, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Edwold.
