STOCKWOOD, a parish in the liberty of SUTTON-POINTZ, Dorchester division, though locally in the Sherborne division, of the county of DORSET, 8 miles (S.S.W.) from Sherborne, containing 33 inhabitants.

The living is a discharged rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at 5. 13. 4., and in the patronage of Thomas Bellamy, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Edwold.
