RADIPOLE, a parish in the hundred of CULLIFORD-TREE, Dorchester division of the county of DORSET, 2½ miles (N.N.W.) from Melcombe-Regis, containing 226 inhabitants.

The living was formerly a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at £11. 5. 5., but the church at Melcombe-Regis having been made parochial, in the 1st of James I., this church was declared to be the chapel of ease: it is dedicated to St. Mary. The parish is situated at the upper end of Weymouth harbour.
