PIDDLETRENTHIDE, a parish in the liberty of PIDDLETRENTHIDE, Cerne subdivision of the county of DORSET, 7 miles (N. by E.) from Dorchester, containing 590 inhabitants.

The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at 19. 10. 5., and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Winchester. The church is dedicated to All Saints. John Harding, in 1750, left the sum of 431. 13., the interest to be applied for teaching poor children.
