OWERMOIGNE, a parish and liberty in the Blandford (South) division of the county of DORSET, 7¼ miles (S.E.) from Dorchester, containing 377 inhabitants.

The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at £23. 4. 7., and in the patronage of the Hon. William Damer. The church is dedicated to St. Michael. The parish is bounded on the south by the English channel. A charity school is supported by donations amounting to about £8 per annum.
