OWERMOIGNE, a parish and liberty in the Blandford (South) division of the county of DORSET, 7 miles (S.E.) from Dorchester, containing 377 inhabitants.

The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at 23. 4. 7., and in the patronage of the Hon. William Damer. The church is dedicated to St. Michael. The parish is bounded on the south by the English channel. A charity school is supported by donations amounting to about 8 per annum.
