OBORNE, a parish in the hundred of SHERBORNE, Sherborne division of the county of DORSET, 1¼ mile (N.E. by E.) from Sherborne, containing 123 inhabitants.

The living is a discharged vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £6. 5. 10., and in the patronage of Earl Digby. The church is dedicated to St. Cuthbert.
