OBORNE, a parish in the hundred of SHERBORNE, Sherborne division of the county of DORSET, 1 mile (N.E. by E.) from Sherborne, containing 123 inhabitants.

The living is a discharged vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at 6. 5. 10., and in the patronage of Earl Digby. The church is dedicated to St. Cuthbert.
