MOTCOMB, a parish in the liberty of GILLINGHAM, Shaston (West) division of the county of DORSET, 1½ mile (N.N.W.) from Shaftesbury, containing 1184 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Gillingham, in the jurisdiction of the royal peculiar court of the manor of Gillingham. The church is an ancient structure.
