FOLKE, a parish in the hundred of SHERBORNE, Sherborne division of the county of DORSET, 3¼ miles (S.E. by S.) from Sherborne, containing 269 inhabitants.

The living is a rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £9. 12. 3½. The Rev. W. Chafin and the Dean and Chapter of Salisbury were joint patrons in 1777. The church is dedicated to St. Lawrence
