CHICKERELL (WEST), a parish in the hundred of CULLIFORD-TREE, Dorchester division of the county of DORSET, 3 miles (N.W. by W.) from Weymouth, containing, with the extra-parochial liberties of Winterbourne-Herringstone, and Winterbourne-Farringdon, 497 inhabitants.

The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at £8. 16. 0½. The Duchess of Bolton was patroness in 1795.
