BREDY (LONG), a parish in the hundred of EGGERTON, Bridport division of the county of DORSET, 8 miles (W.) from Dorchester, containing 291 inhabitants.

The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at £19. 12. 1. R. Williams, Esq. was patron in 1829. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
