BREDY (LONG), a parish in the hundred of EGGERTON, Bridport division of the county of DORSET, 8 miles (W.) from Dorchester, containing 291 inhabitants.

The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at 19. 12. 1. R. Williams, Esq. was patron in 1829. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
