BELLCHALWELL, a parish in the hundred of CRANBORNE, Shaston (western) division of the county of DORSET, 8 miles (W.N.W.) from Blandford-Forum, containing 192 inhabitants.

The living is a discharged rectory, united, in 1776, to the rectory of Fifehead-Neville, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at £7. 15. Earl Rivers was patron in 1827.
