ASKERSWELL, a parish in the hundred of EGGERTON, Bridport division of the county of DORSET, 4 miles (E.) from Bridport, containing 190 inhabitants.

The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's books at £9. 2. 6. J. Benet, Esq. was patron in 1807. The church is dedicated to St. Michael.
