Christine Colbourne Researcher: Rob Baker My late Mother in Law Dorothy Gertrude Wallbridge was understood to have been born in The Three Horshoes Pub in Powerstock around the 1900-1910 period, I do not know a lot more, but believe Wallbridge was quite a common name in this area. My wife and I visited Powerstock a few years back, but were unable to find out a great deal,we were unable to find anyone at the church where we thought we would get information. If anyone has any information on the Wallbridges around the 1800-1920s we would be very grateful WallisResearcher: Jenny Bartlet I am searching for any information on the families of John Wallis who married Ann Bushrod in Broadmayne, Dorset in 1787 and John Wallis who married Sarah Voss also in Broadmayne in 1813. Myra White Family rumor has it that my great grandfather and his hrothers immigrated to Newfoundland, Canada from Dorset, specific area unknown, so therefore it has fallen to me to locate them. The surname is WAREHAM, the brothers being George, Samuel and William. Others can locate some info on Sam and George, but nothing on William, who is presumed to be my ggrandfather as my gfather was ?named after him?. Story has them being born ~1840's and leaving as youngmen? or so we think. There is also a Thomas Wareham also from Dorset to Otterbury (now Carbonear, Nfld) in 1830. Hopefully someone out there can help me fill in the blanks and any info will be happily accepted and shared. Looking forward to hearing from someone, somewhere, sometime in the future. James Hooper John HOOD was a sailcloth manufacturer in Bridport who died in 1803. His wife was Susannah PALMER. I am looking for any more information about John. In particular I am looking for a birth or baptism. His grand son Henry made a written statement in 1895 that John was the brother of Lord Samuel Hood and Lord Alexander (Bridport) Hood. If that were to be correct, John would be the son of Rev. Samuel Hood and Mary Hoskyns of both Somerset and Dorset at various times. I do believe that this Rev. Samuel was resident in Beaminster for some time. Researcher:
