Also Edmund or Edward Vater of Belchalwell born in 1820's wondering if he is James's son prior to coming to Newfoundland.Both Ibberton and Belchalwell are small villages in Dorset and adjacent to each other.

I am tracing a family descended from father James Rebbeck who was buried 15 Oct 1801, "of Compton Abbas". His burial date is from the Fontmell Magna Parish Register. His second wife, Mary STICKLAND survived him. He had at least one son by his first wife. The son was Luke VINING (variants exist) who became known as REBBECK. Luke, 1765--30 Dec 1844, was a Dairyman in Fontmell Magna. Luke had four or five children baptised as VINING whose descendants are REBBECKs. Other names in this family are MOGGRIDGE, BARRETT, KENDAL, MEADEN, DEBBEN, WAREHAM, RIDEOUT, and BATSON.

On January 2, 1749 a Thomas DeGreshe married Elizabeth Newsam, also in Christchurch, Hampshire. Mary DeGreshe was born to Thomas on January 6, 1751 in Christchurch.

I am looking for birth/baptism details for John VYE born in WEYMOUTH in approx. 1823. He married Sarah Maria Anderson, in Folkestone - 24th September 1848. I would also like any information about his parents. His father, George VYE, is listed as a Mariner on the marriage certificate. I have no information regarding George VYE's wife. They were all apparently born in Weymouth.
