Until at least the late 1800's the DALWOOD family lived within about 6 or 7 miles of Yeovil, Somerset near the boundary between Somerset and Dorset. Places mentioned in documents include South Petherton, Stoke sub Hamdon, Milborne Port and Sherborne.

John DAVIS married Martha STILL (from Poole according to a census record) in Blandford Forum in 1808. I do not know why they went there to get married as the DAVIS family came from Milborne St. Andrew and that is where their daughter Kezia was baptised in 1823.

Sailed, 1607, to Maine with Popham Colony expedition and again in 1608. Returned to England when Colony was abandoned. Sailed in 1609 fleet of Sir George Somers to to the Jamestown colony. I am trying to trace details of Alvan (or Alban) HARVEY who married Edith DUNFORD in the Sept. quarter of 1855 5a645 in Dorchester. They had at least one son Thomas who was born on 17th July 1860, most likely at Puddletown, Dorset (a number of references are given). He migrated to Australia, and married an Annie ERSKINE in Brisbane, Queensland before moving to Sydney, New South Wales.

Thomas may also be related to a Tom HARVEY who was born in 1874 and died on 26 Dec 1963 in Tincleton, Dorchester.

The number of Harvey surnames, delays and lost mail, the changes in the Registery Office in London and general lack of response to Australian enquiries is frustrating in the extreme. ANY help on the HARVEY lines is appreciated, or the other surnames.

I am researching John Budden (1709-1797) married to Mary Pinhorne (1706-1770) who lived in Canford. They had 4 sons and 2 daughters. John Budden (1739-1790) married Bridget Gillingham on 17 Jul 1769. Thomas Budden (1739-1819) married Bridget Trim on 14 Nov 1763. Joseph Budden (1741-1818) married Frances Gillingham on 11 Aug 1766. William Budden (1743-1830) married Ann Corbin on 24 Mar 1771. Mary Budden (1746-1747). Mary Budden (1748).

I am very interested in finding more information about the marriages of Mary BUDDEN b. 30 Aug 1761 in Canford. Her first marriage was to Henry Abbot but later married Martin Wareham. Any information on these unions would be helpful.

I am very interested in finding more information about the marriage of Richard DYMOTT and Bridget BUDDEN. Bridget was born 1765 and died 6 Feb 1810. Based on parish records I found the following children: Carolina DYMOTT baptised 1796 in Stapehill, Mary Ann DYMOTT b. 16 Oct 1802 in Canford, Eleanor DYMOTT baptised 21 Aug 1804 in Canford. Any information on the family would be helpful.
